The Sea Salt Shore Chasen Holder is a ceramic whisk stand designed to support the natural shape and longevity of your bamboo chasen.

Its softly tapered form and warm, mineral glaze evoke the quiet textures of a sea-salt shoreline, with subtle variations that make each piece unique.

Unlike many wider holders, this piece was intentionally crafted with a more restrained profile to avoid overstretching the delicate tines of the chasen. Instead, it gently keeps them separated, allowing proper airflow and drying while reducing mechanical stress and the risk of premature breakage.

About the artist

Başak Egeli is a ceramic artist based north of the Sea of Marmara, where she built her atelier next to her countryside home.

After a career as an attorney, she chose to fully dedicate herself to working with clay — driven by a strong, personal connection to the material.

Her approach is defined by restraint and honesty. She allows the clay to remain visible, embracing natural textures, irregularities, and transitions. Her glazes draw from landscapes around her — sand, earth, and water — translated into understated, functional forms.

Her work is meant to be used daily, where aesthetic and function converge in simple rituals like preparing tea.
