Gushu
Fengqing Gushu Hong Cha
Whereas many red teas from Fengqing invite you into fragrant orchards, this Gushu Hong Cha beckons you into an untamed, mysterious forest. The tea was held by the producer for a year in large containers with regular aeration before being packed into smaller cans.
After fortifying yourself with the hearty aromas of meat broth and freshly baked bread, the journey begins as you inhale notes of spicy cedar and smoky peat rising from the wet leaves. Moving from infusion to infusion reveals shifting layers of fruitiness: tart bergamot and cranberry bitterness intertwine with the spice of black cardamom pods, enriched by a coppery minerality.
Whenever you feel drawn to the darker, less-trodden paths of Fengqing, this is the tea to choose.
