Muzha Tieguanyin
Traditionally crafted Tieguanyin offers a harmonious balance of sweet roasted notes and fresh floral aromas. This tea takes that classic profile a step further: it is hand-picked, oxidized, and roasted in Muzha, Taiwan, using the Tieguanyin cultivar exclusively, unlike most Taiwanese Tieguanyin, which are now made with Jin Xuan and other aromaic cultivars.
The result is a tea that evoles the experience of stepping into a German bakery that also happens to be a flower shop. In a warmed brewing vessel, the dry leaves release an irresistibly sweet aroma. Once infused, buttery pastry notes emerge alongside the comforting sweetness of acacia honey, supported by a creamy mouthfeel. As the session unfolds, the roasted character gradually gives way to elegant magnolia florals, bringing freshness and lift while beautifully balancing the tea's dessert-like profile.
An archetypal expression of Tieguanyin, this tea rewards both those seeking warmth and comfort and those who enjoy exploring its subtle evolution in aroma and flavor.
If you appreciate this profile but are looking for a more overtly aromatic experience, we also recommend our Huangjingui Dong Pian, a tea sold in Muzha under the Tieguanyin label, as is now common for cultivars processed in the Tieguanyin style.
