Jin Xuan Dark

Unapologetic for its popularity, Jin Xuan with its famous (or infamous) moniker 'milky oolong' is ready for another wide appeal. Why, you might ask? Well, because it is scrumptious! One sip will surely bring a smile to your inner child, as a steaming mug of honey and milk would on chilly winter evenings. We owe such pleasures both to the Jin Xuan cultivar, unique to Taiwan, and the careful attention to terroir and farming practices that have crafted the natural flavors of this tea. This one has been given a higher roasting to add an curiously darker taste without any traces of bitterness. Instead, the warmth of honey porridge, a nutty root vegetable such as burdock, and the ever-lasting fragrance of lilies remain in the cup.

  • Water temperature: 90°C

For best results in gongfu cha, brew in the traditional gaiwan or in a Yixing teapot. Too high water temperature would burn the leaves, resulting in bitter taste.
