Zhu Lin Ye Lan Xiang

Produced with a generous labor of love, this tea has been hand-picked from a bamboo forest in Xuancheng, Anhui. Here the tea plants, resembling arbor shrubs, are found wildly growing amongst a dense thicket of forestland, making it particularly difficult to harvest this tea. Beating through the bush the farmers must go, picking small amounts everyday, so that the 850g we have sourced is indeed a precious quantity which—we can assure you—will not last very long, as it is one to enjoy fresh! Brewing a pale liquor with a milky soft texture, each infusion is a new encounter with this tea, giving an overall impression of white flowers and freshly cut meadow grass that lifts off into the higher aromatics of dried chili.

Preparation

IN THE TEAPOT
  • Quantity: 6g / 500ml
  • Water temperature: 80°C
  • Infusion time: 3–4 min
GONGFU CHA METHOD
  • Quantity: 2g / 150ml
  • Water temperature: 80°C
  • 3 infusions: 60, 60, 90 sec

For best results in gongfu cha, brew in a tall glass and fill with water before adding the leaves. Too high water temperature would burn the leaves, resulting in bitter taste.
