Yiwu 2025
For lovers of fruity Yiwu Shengs
The wet leaves give off a distinct apple aroma, a fragrant prelude to this tea’s nuanced flavor journey. The first infusion presents vivid notes of stewed apples with a delicate hint of honey, yielding a cup that is clean, fresh, and bright on the palate. In the second infusion, the golden liquor gains body and depth as the mouthfeel thickens, revealing emerging notes of wild mushrooms and a subtle umami undertone. From the third infusion onward, the apple sweetness gracefully fades, the aroma grows earthier, and the tea develops greater viscosity, coating the palate with a silky texture and layered complexity.
This tea exemplifies a classic Yiwu profile accented by notable oxidation. The leaves, darker than those of a typical Menghai Sheng Pu’er, reflect the careful processing and distinctive Yiwu terroir behind the tea’s character. Bitterness remains subdued throughout, only peeking through in later infusions or under a high leaf-to-water ratio with prolonged steeping. Instead, a gentle sweetness and enduring smoothness dominate the experience. Each cup offers a harmonious balance of technical craft and sensory delight. It invites connoisseurs to savor and explore its evolving flavors across multiple infusions.
