Honey-Fragrance Baozhong
This tea is crafted from the Jiguanyin cultivar, the "wonder child" of Tieguanyin and Huangjingui. Master Chen, a Taiwanese tea master living in Anxi, has crafted it into a Baozhong, an oolong style renowned in Taiwan.
The result is a tea every bit as complex as its background. At first glance, the dark, twisted leaves resemble those of a Yancha, but as the session unfolds, they reveal a greener hue, showing a lightly oxidized oolong, though still more oxidized than traditional Baozhong. This balance allows different flavor profiles to intertwine beautifully: the liquor combines an upfront honeyed sweetness with the juicy vibrancy of tropical fruit nectar. The aftertaste complements these notes with floral hints reminiscent of orchid, leaving a clean and refreshing finish.
A true crossroads of cultivars, traditions, and styles, this tea offers a distinctive new profile within the already multifaceted world of oolong.
