Yunnan Biluochun 2025
The Chinese saying “Tian Gao Huang Di Yuan,” meaning “the sky is high and the emperor is far away,” perfectly captures the spirit of Yunnan. In its vast forests and towering mountains, nature seems untouched by human or divine rule, wild and free. This Yunnanese Biluochun embraces that freedom wholeheartedly, presenting a bolder, wilder expression of this classic tea.
As the large, tightly rolled leaves meet the heated gaiwan, a delicate floral fragrance emerges, evoking the scent of intensely perfumed dried flowers. This captivating aroma takes center stage in the liquor as well, which surprises with its full-bodied character, a clear signature of the Yunnanese terroir. During the session, a soft sweetness, akin to apricot candies, slowly unfolds, lingering beautifully to dominate the tea’s remarkably long-lasting finish. In the background, a smoky twist, reminiscent of smoked peanuts, spices things up, adding complexity and enhancing the overall deliciousness of the tea.
This tea is a celebration of the boundless possibilities within Chinese tea culture and a testament to the incredible versatility of Yunnan’s leaves.

For best results in gongfu cha, brew in a tall glass and fill with water before adding the leaves. Too high water temperature would burn the leaves, resulting in bitter taste.
