Lid Holder

These cute lid holders are made of dark, rough clay in a variety of glazes. The little pedestal in the shape of a seven-petaled flower has a flat enough surface to balance the lid of a gaiwan, teapot, or infusing mug. When pouring fresh hot water in the brewing vessel or inhaling deeply the fragrance of the moist leaves within, the lid may thereby be floated regally (and hygienically) above the tea table, while it enhances the aesthetics of the cha xi when not in use. It's one of those accessories that, while not necessary to the strict minimalist, seasons the enjoyment of the tea-making practice.
