The Nannuoshan Tea House in Berlin is closing...

... but our online shop will still be up and running.

It's September 2, 2010. To the left Burma, to the right Laos, and under my feet the murky waters of the Mekong River. On board a boat, I am going up the river from Thailand to China. Soon I will be able to see with my own eyes how tea is grown and processed in its native terroir, Yunnan.

That first trip to China was the beginning of Nannuoshan, at least in my thoughts. After spending a few days on Mount Nannuo, hosted by a family of growers, I decided that if I ever started a tea business it would be called Nannuoshan.

I returned to Europe with a deep conviction:

"Real tea is unknown in the western world."

A much deeper awareness than it might appear at first. Shortly afterwards, I began to organize seminars and tastings throughout Europe, all with a common aim: to spread the knowledge of tea.

Later on, the company Nannuoshan and its online shop were officially born. After that, on November 7, 2015—my birthday—the Nannuoshan Tea House opened its doors to the public.

As some of you already know, tea and Nannuoshan are a passion to which I devote my free time; early mornings, late evenings, and weekends. During the day, I take care of something else, another passion that I cultivate from childhood: space.

Working as an engineer for eight or more hours a day while maintaining two online shops and a tea house in Berlin was only possible thanks to two strong passions and the patience of my loved ones.

At the beginning of next year, some things will change in my life that will occupy me even more than today. I regret that it will not be possible to combine these new activities with the management of the Nannuoshan Tea House. The Nannuoshan Teahouse in Berlin will therefore close at the end of the year.

In the future, Nannuoshan will continue to offer you fine tea and teaware both in our online shops and through our business partners, and of course we will not fail to organize events and tastings.

I am also taking the opportunity of this change to reorganize Nannuoshan, but it is still too early to go into details. For now, it is enough to say that soon there will be some news!

The first two weekends of December and the entire second half of the month, I will be in Berlin to enjoy in person the last days of the tea house with you; I hope many of you will come over to join me!
