Taoren Xiang

Getting to the heart of the matter, this cultivar bypasses the usual stone fruit note of Dancong teas for the that of the kernel inside. Its flavor spectrum is filled in by darker notes of nuttiness and caramel on one end and aromatic fruit on the other, leaving the central minerality to have a clean and refreshing effect, and a taste that may recall apricot kernel even more than peach. Though usually shied away from in other Dancongs, bringing out a little bitterness when steeping will be welcome here, and bring along with it a long-lasting minty and floral aftertaste. Pair with amaretti biscuits for a complementary tea time.

As this Taoren Xiang doesn't fit the very refined floral and fruity profile most associated with Dancong, we've decided to offer a marked discount on its normal price. But enjoy the opportunity to try this milder and nuttier version!
