Cui Yu

Green Jade, Cui yu in Mandarin, is a perfect example of a green and mild Formosa oolong.

The aroma is a blend of fresh spring vegetation and sweet spring flowers. The floral notes give the tea a lingering sweetness, just like a spring garden.

The steeps can be best described as buttery in texture and floral in taste. Notes of pollen, lilies, lilac, and hyacinth harmonize well with the subtle green note of vegetation.

Preparation

IN THE TEAPOT
  • Quantity: 6g / 500ml
  • Water temperature: 100°C
  • Infusion time: 5 min
GONGFU CHA METHOD
  • Quantity: 3g / 100ml
  • Water temperature: 100°C
  • Four infusions: 45, 45, 60, 90 sec

For best results brew in a tall glass and fill with water before adding the leaves. Too high water temperature would burn the leaves, and the tea will taste bitter and sour.
