Flowering tea

Oriental Beauty

A bundle of green tea with jasmine and chrysanthemum blossoms, these large pearls have been painstakingly hand-tied to unfurl into a flower while steeping. A labour-intensive process, each leaf and flower is strung onto thread before being folded up to deliver the final aesthetic and sensory experience only when immersed in hot water. Especially enjoyable with company, we suggest steeping it in a large glass vessel, so all can admire the blooming in action, as the tea leaves and blossoms release their flavour and aroma.

  • ORIGIN:  Fujian, China
  • HARVEST TIME:  Spring 2017
  • TASTE:  Heady, vegetal, floral

Preparation

IN THE TEAPOT
  • Quantity: 1 pearl / 500ml
  • Water temperature: 80°C
  • Infusion time: 4 min
GONGFU CHA METHOD
  • Quantity: 1 pearl / 100ml
  • Water temperature: 80°C
  • 3 infusions: 60, 60, 90 sec

For best results brew in a tall glass and fill with water before adding the leaves. Too high water temperature would burn the leaves, and the tea will taste bitter and sour.
